At last adding videos to your blog got really easy in Wordpress 2.9 and about time too!
Now if you want to embed a video into your Wordpress 2.9 pages and blog posts on your website all you have to do is paste the URL of the video into the page or post using the visual editor.
Yes it’s that easy!!!
This is how you do it…
Want to add a video to Wordpress 2.9? Then read on:
So, for instance, say you want to add a YouTube video, this is what you have to do:
1. Go to YouTube and find the Video you want to embed or add.
2. Copy the URL of the Video from your browser at the YouTube site.
3. Go into your Wordpress 2.9 admin dashboard area for your site.
4. Find the post or page where you want to embed the video
5. Edit the post or page where you want to put the video
6. In the editor just PASTE THE URL you copied above.
7. Update the post
8. Checkout the same post or page on your website
9. The video will be there!!!!
10. Enjoy.
Here’s an example of a YouTube video URL:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTDNLUzjkpg
So you would just paste this directly into your page or post and click update!
And when you check your site you will see the video:
Wordpress 2.9 detects the video URL and automatcially embeds the video to play when the post or page is displayed – how cool is that!
The only thing you have to remember is that the URL has to be on a line of it’s own for Wordpress 2.9 to do this.
[If you need this then upgrade to version 2.9.1 of Wordpress or higher (skip 2.9.0) as later versions fix a few bugs they found]
