A new version of Wordpress has just been released and it is really important to you as a Wordpress user. This is a quick review of what you get with 2.7 and why it is of such great importance.
Wordpress 2.7 New Generation – It’s All About You!
Wordpress 2.7 is significant because it has many enhancements and features not there in previous versions that are going to making your website and content management tasks so much easier and save you a whole bunch of time.
The development team at Wordpress have listened to and reviewed all the feedback from thousands of their top users and now everything is much faster and 2.7 has a new user interface so that all your admin and posting tasks are much easier to perform thanks to simple one click operations and drag-and-drop functionality.
Awesome Upgrade and a New DashBoard Design!
To be honest this is an awesome upgrade with a new clever design and the back-end of Wordpress has now become the easy to use system it always promised, but had not delivered until now. It’s way cool.
It is a different interface and it will take time to get used to, but the advantages are so great that you will eventually wonder how you managed without it before.
You can now customize the dashboard to suit your way of working and also you can now reply to comments directly from the dashboard.
Don’t get too carried away with customization though. This is a really powerful feature and you will probably play with it awhile before getting the final solution that works best for you. I already love it!

You also get comment threading and paging as standard to really improve the look and feel of any Wordpress site to make it look more professional.
And yes finally you get the ability to setup sticky posts – how long have we been waiting for this one? Well now it’s here at last!
Single Click Plugin Installations Without FTP!
This is one of the best features of Wordpress 2.7 as it now allows you to install plugins directly from Wordpress.org with a single click.
No more need download to the plugin to your PC and upload it to you the plugins folder in wp-content on your website’s server with FTP before you can activate it in Wordpress admin.
Just find the plugin you want from the dashboard, click on it and you are done. So easy!
Single Click Wordpress Version Upgrades Without FTP!
Yes you read that right. Once you get to version 2.7 of Wordpress you will never again have to do a manual installation when you want to upgrade your version of Wordpress.
For me this has always been one of the most boring tasks and if you even have just a few Wordpress websites you will know exactly what I mean. It’s always good and totally recommended that you have the latest version running on your sites for security reasons and now this has become really easy to do.
When a new lease of the Wordpress software has been released a built-in monitoring facility with 2.7 (and above) will automatically notify you of this new release and then all you have to do is just click on a button and the new version of the Wordpress software will be downloaded to your server and automatically installed and upgraded. How cool is that? This a great feature enhancement and long overdue.
Upgrade to Wordpress 2.7 now!

Note: Wordpress say that this is the ultimate dashboard design and that it is unlikely to change again for quite a long time, which is good to know.

Some Wordpress website and blog owners have had their sites hacked and corrupted due to a security vulnerability in older versions, which is fixed by Wordpress 2.7.
