I highly recommend that you upgrade all your WordPress websites to WordPress 2.7 right now. The reason for this is a Hacker “high security threat” Alert!
Recently many sites have been hacked and badly corrupted or destroyed by hackers, who have found and exploited a security vulnerability in previous versions of WordPress that has been fixed in version 2.7.
WordPress is being Hacked!
You are especially vulnerable if you have not not done a full back up of your whole WordPress website recently or if you have made a few changes recently since your last backup.
Believe me when I say that you really do not want to go through the pain of trying to restore a website that has been taken down by hackers or corrupted for any other reason either…
It can take a whole lot of time and even more frustration and sometimes real anger to just get your site back to where it was only a couple of days ago.
I know because I have been there and I don’t want to go there again.
If you have more than one WordPress site then you will already know that the potential for disaster and potential loss of earnings due to mad hackers could be slightly more than just depressing.
What Should I Do?
So this is what you need to do urgently:
[1] First of all you need to do Full Backups of all your WordPress Sites now to reduce the risk of total loss.
[2] Then Upgrade to WordPress 2.7 as soon as you can.
[3] If you make any more changes to your site between the full backup and being ready to upgrade then do another full backup. You should do this before upgrading anyway!
