Easy 30 Second WordPress 2.7 Upgrade via cPanel and Fantastico
Upgrading to Wordpress 2.7 is incredibly easy if you have your site hosted with HostGator.
Because Hostgator’s Wordpress web hosting accounts provide both cPanel and Fantastico and because the super-helpful support team at Hostgator have decided to make this upgrade super easy, this is a 1 click upgrade process. Nothing could be simpler!
So if you have cPanel and Fantastico Wordpress web hosting it should also work for you!
But before you start the upgrade there are some essential checks that you need to do first:
What You Need To Do Before Upgrading To Wordpress 2.7
When you have completed these, and only then, you can begin your upgrade…
[1] Firstly just login to your website’s cPanel with the correct username and password (yourdomain.com/cpanel).
[2] When you are in cPanel scroll down to the Fantastico Deluxe icon and click on it once.
[3] When you are on the Fanastico Deluxe page just go down the menu on the left sidebar and then click on Wordpress
[4] Now you are all set to upgrade your website to Wordpress 2.7
[5] All you have to do to start the process to upgrade to the latest version of Wordpress, which in this case is 2.7, is to click on the link “Upgrade To 2.7”
[6] Then simply CLICK on the UPGRADE Button to upgrade your site to Wordpress 2.7 …
[7] And a few seconds later – IT IS DONE!
You now have a website that has been upgraded to Wordpress 2.7, so just login to your administrator account to see the amazing new dashboard and all the benefits and features that this new version provides.

Seriously Wordpress 2.7 is so nice! The interface is so elegant that navigation is so easy! I’m yet to try out their new turbo features. But I’m sure that’s a cool features..
What if you have 100 domains inside a hostgator reseller account as I do? Dies this mean I have to login to each separately to do this upgrade for each individual cpanel?

Not sure if there is a way to do a global update to Wordpress 2.7 at Hostgator (or anywhere else) – somehow I doubt it. But if you submit a support ticket and ask them they will get back to you real quick with the answer.
