OZH Drop Down Menu
With OZH Drop Down menus you get a customizable color scheme that utilizes a special neat little color picker tool.
There is a normal mode for regular admin users and you can also switch to a more compact mode or even a minimal mode for those of us who want to really clear up our Wordpress admin area.
I have been using this plugin for sometime now and it has definitely speeded up my daily Wordpress tasks.
Fluency Admin
The Fluency Admin plugin will change the style of you Wordpress dashboard especially in the left-hand menu options and how they work.
This gives WordPress administrators a better interface to use which will save time and provides a classier feel and styling with some cool features thrown in for good measure.
More recent features include hover menus, hot keys for mani menu and submenu access, support for both a gray and the classic blue color schemes.
In addition there is a facility to turn on and off the special Fluency login styles and the ability to display your own custom logo on your Wordpress login page.
This is a really nice implementation of a menu system and it is very impressive and stylish!
Compact and easy to use.

Which one of these do you prefer?
Well I guess that to really make up your mind you have to at least install both and try them out one at a time. That will give you an intitial impression of whether either of these Wordpress admin dashboard alternatives are for you.
Then to really see how much you like your favorite you should test it over a longer period of time. I know which I prefer, but you will only know your preference by trialing.
